Surah Al-Baqarah — Verse 53

وَإِذْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْفُرْقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ

Wa-ith atayna moosaalkitaba walfurqana laAAallakum tahtadoon

Translations of this verse 7

And [recall] when We gave Moses the Scripture and criterion that perhaps you would be guided.

Remember when We gave Moses the Scripture, and the means to distinguish [right and wrong], so that you might be guided.

And when We gave unto Moses the Scripture and the criterion (of right and wrong), that ye might be led aright.

And remember We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion (Between right and wrong): There was a chance for you to be guided aright.

Then We gave Mūsā the Book and the Criterion (of right and wrong), so that you may find the right path.

And (remember) when We gave Mûsâ (Moses) the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah)] and the criterion (of right and wrong) so that you may be guided aright."

And recall (that while you were committing this wrong) We gave Moses the Scripture and the Criterion that you are guided to the Right Way.
