Surah Al-Anfal — Verse 9
The Spoils of War · 8:9 · 9/75
إِذْ تَسْتَغِيثُونَ رَبَّكُمْ فَٱسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ أَنِّى مُمِدُّكُم بِأَلْفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ مُرْدِفِينَ
Ith tastagheethoona rabbakum fastajabalakum annee mumiddukum bi-alfin mina almala-ikatimurdifeen
Translations of this verse 7
Saheeh International
[Remember] when you were asking help of your Lord, and He answered you, "Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another."

When you begged your Lord for help, He answered you, ‘I will reinforce you with a thousand angels in succession.’

When ye sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): I will help you with a thousand of the angels, rank on rank.

قال تعالى: {إِذْ تَسْتَغِيثُونَ رَبَّكُمْ فَاسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ أَنِّي مُمِدُّكُمْ بِأَلْفٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ مُرْدِفِينَ (9)} [الأنفال: 9].
183 - عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ -رضي الله عنهما-: حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابَ - رضي الله عنه - قَالَ: لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ بَدْرٍ، نَظَرَ النَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم - إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ وَهُمْ ثَلَاثُ مِئَةٍ وَنَيْفٌ، وَنَظَرَ إِلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَهُمْ أَلْفٌ وَزِيادَةٌ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم - الْقِبْلَةَ ثُمَّ مَدَّ يَدَيْهِ، وَعَلَيْهِ رِدَاؤُهُ وَإِزَارُهُ، ثُمَّ قَال: "اللَّهُمَّ أَينَ مَا وَعَدْتَنِي؟، اللَّهُمَّ أَنجزْ لِي مَا وَعَدْتَنِي، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ تَهلِك هذِهِ الْعِصَابَةُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ فَلاَ تُعْبَدْ فِي الأَرْضِ أَبدًا"، قَالَ: فَمَا زَالَ يَسْتَغِيثُ رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَيَدْعُوهُ حَتَّى سَقَطَ رِدَاؤُهُ عَنْ مَنْكِبَيْهِ، فَأَتَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، فَأَخَذَ رِدَاءَهُ فَرَدَّاهُ ثُمَّ الْتَزَمَهُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ كَفاكَ مُنَاشَدَتُكَ رَبَّكَ، فَإِنَّهُ سَيُنْجِزُ لَكَ مَا وَعَدَكَ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ {إِذْ تَسْتَغِيثُونَ رَبَّكُمْ فَاسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ أَنِّي مُمِدُّكُمْ بِأَلْفٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ مُرْدِفِينَ (9) ... }. واللفظ لأحمد ¬أخرجه مسلم برقم: 1763، وأبو داود برقم: 2690، والترمذي برقم: 3081، وأحمد، 1/ 30، 32، والبزار برقم: 196، وأبو عوانة: 4/ 152، 155، 156، وابن حبان برقم: 4793، والبيهقي في السنن: 6/ 326، والدلائل: 3/ 51 - 52، وأبو نعيم في الدلائل: 408، وابن أبي شيبة: 10/ 350، وابن جرير: 9/ 189.¥.
