Surah Al-An'am — Verse 33

قَدْ نَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيَحْزُنُكَ ٱلَّذِى يَقُولُونَ ۖ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ
Qad naAAlamu innahu layahzunuka allatheeyaqooloona fa-innahum la yukaththiboonaka walakinnaaththalimeena bi-ayatiAllahi yajhadoon

Saheeh International
We know that you, [O Muḥammad], are saddened by what they say. And indeed, they do not call you untruthful, but it is the verses of Allāh that the wrongdoers reject.
M.A.S. Abdel Haleem
We know well that what they say grieves you [Prophet]. It is not you they disbelieve: the evildoers reject God’s revelation.
Marmaduke Pickthall
We know well how their talk grieveth thee, though in truth they deny not thee (Muhammad) but evil-doers flout the revelations of Allah.
Abdullah Yusuf Ali
We know indeed the grief which their words do cause thee: It is not thee they reject: it is the signs of Allah, which the wicked contemn.
Mufti Taqi Usmani
Indeed We know that what they say makes you sad, because it is not you whom they reject, but the transgressors actually deny the signs of Allah.
Al-Hilali & Khan
We know indeed the grief which their words cause you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): it is not you that they deny, but it is the Verses (the Qur’ân) of Allâh that the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers) deny.
Abul A'la Maududi (Tafhim)
(O Muhammad!) We know indeed that the things they say grieve you, though in truth it is not you whom they give the lie to, but it is the signs of Allah that these wrong-doers reject.

قال تعالى: {قَدْ نَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُ لَيَحْزُنُكَ الَّذِي يَقُولُونَ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ وَلَكِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ (33)} [الأنعام: 33].
172 - عَنْ عَلِيٍّ - رضي الله عنه -: أَنَّ أَبَا جَهْلٍ قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -: إِنَّا لَا نُكَذِّبُكَ، وَلَكِنْ نُكَذِّبُ بِمَا جِئْتَ بِهِ، فَأنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى: {فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ وَلَكِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ} ¬أخرجه الترمذي برقم: 3064، والحاكم: 2/ 315 وصححه على شرط الشيخين موصولاً بغير إسناد الترمذي، وقال الذهبي. قلت: ما خرجا لناجية - الراوي عن علي - شيئاً، وقال أحمد شاكر في عمدة التفسير: 5/ 25: الوصل زيادة من ثقتين، فهي مقبولة على اليقين، وقد تعقب الذهبي تصحيح الحاكم إياه على شرط الشيخين بأنهما لم يخرجا لناجية شيئاً، وهذا صحيح، فإن الشيخين لم يخرجا لناجية بن كعب شيئاً، ولكنه تابعي ثقة، فالحديث صحيح، وإن لم يكن على شرطهما، وزاد الشوكاني: 2/ 159 لابن أبي حاتم وأبي الشيخ وابن مردويه والضياء في المختارة.¥.
