Surah As-Sajdah — Verse 16

تَتَجَافَىٰ جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ

Tatajafa junoobuhum AAani almadajiAAiyadAAoona rabbahum khawfan watamaAAan wamimmarazaqnahum yunfiqoon

Saheeh International

Their sides part [i.e., they arise] from [their] beds; they supplicate their Lord in fear and aspiration, and from what We have provided them, they spend.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem

Their sides shun their beds in order to pray to their Lord in fear and hope; they give to others some of what We have given them.

Marmaduke Pickthall

Who forsake their beds to cry unto their Lord in fear and hope, and spend of that We have bestowed on them.

Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Their limbs do forsake their beds of sleep, the while they call on their Lord, in Fear and Hope: and they spend (in charity) out of the sustenance which We have bestowed on them.

Mufti Taqi Usmani

Their sides remain apart from their beds. They call their Lord with fear and hope, and spend (in charity) out of what We have given to them.

Al-Hilali & Khan

Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (in charity in Allâh’s Cause) out of what We have bestowed on them.

Abul A'la Maududi (Tafhim)

Their sides forsake their beds, and they call upon their Lord in fear and hope, and expend (in charity) out of the sustenance We have granted them.
