Surah Ar-Ra'd — Verse 13

وَيُسَبِّحُ ٱلرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِۦ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ مِنْ خِيفَتِهِۦ وَيُرْسِلُ ٱلصَّوَٰعِقَ فَيُصِيبُ بِهَا مَن يَشَآءُ وَهُمْ يُجَـٰدِلُونَ فِى ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْمِحَالِ
Wayusabbihu arraAAdu bihamdihiwalmala-ikatu min kheefatihi wayursilu assawaAAiqafayuseebu biha man yashao wahum yujadiloonafee Allahi wahuwa shadeedu almihal

Saheeh International
And the thunder exalts [Allāh] with praise of Him - and the angels [as well] from fear of Him - and He sends thunderbolts and strikes therewith whom He wills while they dispute about Allāh; and He is severe in assault.

the thunder sounds His praises, as do the angels in awe of Him; He sends thunderbolts to strike whoever He will. Yet still they dispute about God- He has mighty plans.

The thunder hymneth His praise and (so do) the angels for awe of Him. He launcheth the thunderbolts and smiteth with them whom He will while they dispute (in doubt) concerning Allah, and He is mighty in wrath.

Nay, thunder repeateth His praises, and so do the angels, with awe: He flingeth the loud-voiced thunder-bolts, and therewith He striketh whomsoever He will.. yet these (are the men) who (dare to) dispute about Allah, with the strength of His power (supreme)!
Mufti Taqi Usmani
The thunder proclaims His purity with His praise, and (so do) the angels, out of His awe. And He sends the thunderbolts and strikes with it whom He wills. They are quarrelling about Allah, and He is stern in His plan.
Al-Hilali & Khan
And Ar-Ra‘d (thunder) glorifies and praises Him, and so do the angels because of His Awe. He sends the thunderbolts, and therewith He strikes whom He wills, yet they (disbelievers) dispute about Allâh. And He is Mighty in strength and Severe in punishment.
Abul A'la Maududi (Tafhim)
The thunder celebrates His praise and holiness, and the angels, too, celebrate His praise for awe of Him. He hurls thunderbolts, striking with them whom He wills while they are engaged in disputation concerning Allah. He is Mighty in His contriving.

قال تعالى: {وَيُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ مِنْ خِيفَتِهِ وَيُرْسِلُ الصَّوَاعِقَ فَيُصِيبُ بِهَا مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَهُمْ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي اللَّهِ وَهُوَ شَدِيدُ الْمِحَالِ (13)} [الرعد: 13].
217 - عن أنس - رضي الله عنه - أن رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - رجلاً مرة إلى رجل من فرعانة العرب، فقال: "اذهب فادعه لي"، قال: فذهب إليه، فقال: يدعوك رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم -، فقال له: من رسول الله؟ وما الله؟ أمن ذهب هو؟ أم من فضة هو؟ أم من نحاس هو؟ قال: فرجع إلى رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - فأخبره، فقال: يا رسول الله، قد أَخْبَرْتُكَ أنه أعتى من ذلك، قال لي: كذا وكذا، فقال لي: "ارجع إليه الثانية"، فذهب، فقال له مثلها، فرجع إلى رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم -، فقال: يا رسول الله، قد أخبرتك أنه أعتى من ذلك. فقال: "ارجع إليه فادعه"، فرجع إليه الثالثة، قال: فأعاد عليه ذلك الكلام، فبينما هو يكلمه إذ بعث الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سحابة حيال رأسه، فرعدت، فوقعت منها صاعقة، فذهبت بقحف رأسه، فأنزل الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: {وَيُرْسِلُ الصَّوَاعِقَ} الآية ¬أخرجه النَّسَائِيّ في التفسير برقم: 279، وابن جرير: 13/ 125، والواحدي: ص 271، والعقيلي: 3/ 232 - 233، وأبو يعلى برقم: 3342، وفيه ابن أبي سارة ضعيف، وباقي رجاله ثقات، وقد تابعه ديلم بن غزوان وقد صرح بالسماع من ثابت؛ فالحديث حسن، وقد أخرجه أبو يعلى برقم: 3341، والبزار برقم: 2221، والبيهقي في الدلائل: 6/ 283، وابن أبي عاصم في السنة برقم: 692، وإسناده جيد، وصححه الهيثمي: 7/ 42 بقوله: رواه أبو يعلى والبزار، ورجال البزار رجال الصحيح غير ديلم بن غزوان وهو ثقة. وزاد عزوه في الدر المنثور: 3/ 52 لابن المنذر وابن أبي حاتم وأبي الشيخ وابن مردويه.¥.
