Surah Ali 'Imran — Verse 61

فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ

Faman hajjaka feehi min baAAdi majaaka mina alAAilmi faqul taAAalaw nadAAu abnaanawaabnaakum wanisaana wanisaakumwaanfusana waanfusakum thumma nabtahil fanajAAal laAAnataAllahi AAala alkathibeen

Saheeh International

Then whoever argues with you about it after [this] knowledge has come to you - say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then supplicate earnestly [together] and invoke the curse of Allāh upon the liars [among us]."

If anyone disputes this with you now that you have been given this knowledge, say, ‘Come, let us gather our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, and let us pray earnestly and invoke God’s rejection on those of us who are lying.

And whoso disputeth with thee concerning him, after the knowledge which hath come unto thee, say (unto him): Come! We will summon our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, then we will pray humbly (to our Lord) and (solemnly) invoke the curse of Allah upon those who lie.

If any one disputes in this matter with thee, now after (full) knowledge Hath come to thee, say: "Come! let us gather together,- our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves: Then let us earnestly pray, and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie!"

If someone argues with you (O Prophet) over this after the knowledge that has come to you, say (to him), “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then (let us) pray and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars.”

Then whoever disputes with you concerning him [‘Îsâ (Jesus)] after (all this) knowledge that has come to you [i.e. ‘Îsâ (Jesus) being a slave of Allâh, and having no share in Divinity], say: (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves - then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allâh upon those who lie."

Abul A'la Maududi (Tafhim)

Tell whoever disputes with you on this matter after true knowledge has come to you: 'Come! Let us summon our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, and then let us pray together and invoke the curse of Allah on those who lie.'

قال تعالى: {فَمَنْ حَاجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَنِسَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَكُمْ وَأَنْفُسَنَا وَأَنْفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَلْ لَعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْكَاذِبِينَ (61)} [آل عمران: 61].

72 - عن جابر - رضي الله عنه - قال: قدم وفد أهل نجران على النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - العاقب والسيد، فدعاهما إلى الإسلام، فقالا: أسلمنا قبلك، قال: "كذبتما، إن شئت أخبرتكما بما يمنعكما من الإسلام؟ " فقالا: هات أنبئنا، فقال: "حب الصليب، وشرب الخمر، وأكل لحم الخنزير"، فدعاهما إلى الملاعنة، فوعداه على أن يغادياه بالغداة، فغدا رسول اللّه - صلى الله عليه وسلم -، فأخذ بيد علي وفاطمة والحسن والحسين، ثم أرسل إليهما فأبيا أن يجيبا، فأقرا له بالخراج، فقال النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم -: "والذي بعثني بالحق لو فعلا لمطر الوادي ناراً". قال جابر: فنزلت فيهم هذه الآية: {فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَنِسَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَكُمْ وَأَنْفُسَنَا وَأَنْفُسَكُمْ} ¬أخرجه الواحدي في أسباب النزول: ص 105 - 106، والحاكم: 2/ 593 - 594 دون ذكر نزول الآية، وزاد الشوكاني عزوه في فتح القدير: 1/ 574 لابن مردويه وأبو نعيم في الدلائل، وقال الحاكم: هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم ولم يخرجاه، ووافقه الذهبي، وله شاهد من مرسل الحسن وهو مرسل صحيح الإسناد، وأصل قصة الملاعنة في البخاري برقم: 4380 من حديث حذيفة.¥.
