Surah Ali 'Imran — Verse 143
Family of Imran · 3:143 · 143/200
وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ
Walaqad kuntum tamannawna almawta min qablian talqawhu faqad raaytumoohu waantum tanthuroon
Translations of this verse 7
Saheeh International
And you had certainly wished for death [i.e., martyrdom] before you encountered it, and you have [now] seen it [before you] while you were looking on.

Before you encountered death, you were hoping for it. Well, now you have seen it with your own eyes.
