Surah Ali 'Imran — Verse 113

۞ لَيْسُوا۟ سَوَآءً ۗ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ أُمَّةٌ قَآئِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ
Laysoo sawaan min ahli alkitabiommatun qa-imatun yatloona ayati Allahianaa allayli wahum yasjudoon

Saheeh International
They are not [all] the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allāh during periods of the night and prostrating [in prayer].

قال تعالى: {* لَيْسُوا سَوَاءً مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ أُمَّةٌ قَائِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ (113) يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَأُولَئِكَ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ (114) وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَنْ يُكْفَرُوهُ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُتَّقِينَ (115)} [آل عمران: 113 - 115].
79 - عن ابن عباس -رضي الله عنهما- قال: لما أسلم عبد اللّه بن سلام، وثعلبة بن سعية، وأسيد بن سعية، وأسد بن عبيد، ومن أسلم من يهود معهم فآمنوا وصدقوا ورغبوا في الإسلام، ورسخوا فيه.
قالت أحبار يهود وأهل الكفر منهم: ما آمن بمحمد ولا تبعه إلا أشرارنا، ولو كانوا من خيارنا ما تركوا دين آبائهم وذهبوا إلى غيره، فأنزل الله عزَّ وَجلَّ في ذلك من قولهم {لَيْسُوا سَوَاءً مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ أُمَّةٌ قَائِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ} إلى قوله: {وَأُولَئِكَ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ} ¬أخرجه ابن جرير في التفسير: 4/ 25 - 53، وابن إسحاق: 2/ 198 - 199، وابن أبي حاتم برقم: 1220، والبيهقي في الدلائل: 2/ 534 والطبراني في الكبير برقم: 11388، وأبو نعيم في معرفة الصحابة برقم: 894، 1369، وقال الهيثمى في مجمع الزوائد: 6/ 327: رواه الطبراني ورجاله ثقات، وزاد الشوكاني عزوه في فتح القدير: 1/ 613 لابن المنذر وابن عساكر وابن منده.¥.
